General features of AC chargers

AC Chargers are primarily used for cases where fast charging is not required, and the customer is present at the facility for long period of time, eg. Resorts, entertainment parks, offices, residential complex, industrial plants, etc.

As an example Tata Nexon comes with 30.2 KW Battery & if we use a 7.4kW AC charger, the approximate time will be 4.5 hours for 20-90% of charge. For 100% charge, the time will be 5.5 hours.

Similarly MG car comes with 44.5 KW Battery & if we use a 7.4kW AC charger, the approximate time will be 6 hours for 20-90% of charge. For 100% charge, the time will be 7 hours.

This is Depends on Batteries installed inside the car.

As an example Tata Nexon comes with 30.2 KW Battery – Means we will say it takes around 31 Units during Full charge.

If your electricity supplier will bill Rs 8/- per unit then cost of the full charge will be Rs. 248/-

Similarly MG car comes with 44.5 KW Battery – Means we will say it takes 45 units during full charge.

If your electricity supplier will bill Rs 8/- per unit then cost of the full charge will be Rs. 360/-

The running cost for AC charger is same as the DC Charger. Only the time taken by AC Charger is more.
